| This eight-hour course was designed for management and
supervisory personnel who supervise employees engaged in hazardous
waste operations. Participants in this course should have
already completed a basic 40-hour course.
This program will involve a pre-test, classroom instruction,
demonstrations and practice sessions and is intended to satisfy
the current OSHA training requirements for 8 hours of supervisory
training as outlined in 29 CFR Part 1910.120, Hazardous Waste
Operations and Emergency Response. Upon completion of this
program, participants should:
- Have a basic understanding of OSHA 1910.120
- Assist in site characterization and pre-job planning
- Describe the requirements for medical surveillance, industrial
hygiene monitoring and the associated recordkeeping
- Monitor and audit employee use and maintenance of protective
clothing and respiratory protection
- Assist with the development and implementation of a site
safety and health plan, including emergency response procedures
- Use an MSA Model 2-A Combustible Gas Detector and the
Drager Multi Gas Detector Pump
